Mary Jane was born in Everson, Pennsylvania. A graduate of the Catholic High School of Baltimore, she received a scholarship to attend the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, where she majored in history. After moving to Birmingham, Michigan, she obtained a master's degree in clinical psychology from the Center for Humanistic Studies and worked as a psychotherapist and a behavioral health care manager, where she provided services to clients on many national accounts. In her spare time, Mary Jane traveled the world: rode an elephant in India, hiked to Machu Picchu, and participated in a traditional tea ceremony in Tokyo, among other adventures. She also enjoyed the arts, especially classical music, painting, sculpture, theater, and film. She served for many years as a docent at the Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She was a great lover of animals, especially cats and dogs. And she had many loyal and beloved friends.
