On January 13, 2023, Nicholas J. Pappas, Beloved son of the late Sylvia and John Pappas, Brother of the late George, Pete, and Mark Pappas, Brother of Helen Haley. Dear uncle of Christina, Michael, John and Nicholas Haley. God father of John, Loving Partner to Laura Miller and survived by his spouse Linda Pappas. Cousin of John Pappas, Margaret Sirois, Irene Pappas-Dean, Michael Kalfas, Andrean Kalfas and the Kalfas' in Pennsylvania.
Nicholas "Nick" Pappas was a brother, uncle, godfather and most importantly a fierce and loyal friend to anyone that he liked or cared for. He never judged, and was always good for a laugh or two when around. He spent most of his adult life in the industrial painting field and was very well respected as a knowledgeable employee and was an extraordinarily hard worker. Anyone that shared a job with him would attest to this. He was far from perfect, as many of us are, but he had great humility about his flaws. He loved cards, especially enjoyed online poker, and getting in a good game at the coffee house in Greektown was one of his simple pleasures. He was a gentleman and very loving boyfriend to his girlfriend Laura, who saw what a lot of us saw in him, a huge heart and a kindness rarely seen these days. Nick was comfortable in almost any setting he found himself in. He was generous with his time, and if he had money, he was generous to a fault with family and friends. Nick's most recent family inter action was hanging with his oldest nephew Michael, and his niece Christina, painting Mike's house. It was a great day, of good conversation, some great story telling and most importantly, Nick being Nick, and showing his love of family with actions, instead of words, which, if you knew him as well as some of us did, was always his way. We will always love and miss him, but we know that we will see him again one day and we will celebrate and laugh together in the presence of God's love.
Your loving family.
