Mary “Carol” Peters (née Campbell) August 4, 1939 – February 15, 2026

On Sunday, February 15, 2026, Mary “Carol” Peters (née Campbell) passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 86 years old.

Carol was the beloved wife of the late Albert L. Peters, Jr. and the devoted mother of Albert L. Peters, III and his wife Daneen, Jeff S. Peters, and Kimberly A. Peters. She was the loving grandmother of Anthony Shipley, Shane Peters, and Corey Peters.

Born to the late Charles and Ruth Campbell, Carol grew up in a large and close‑knit family. She was the dear sister of Ed Campbell, Charles Campbell, Denny Campbell, Karen Sproles, Penny Heinlein, Kathy Marcheski, and Sandy Starner, and is preceded in death by MaryEllen Williams, Gordon Campbell, and Pat Campbell. She is also survived by many cherished relatives and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

In addition, her children's many friends, who affectionately referred to Carol as “Momma Carol,” will deeply miss her warmth, kindness, and the way she welcomed them as her own.

Carol’s life was filled with simple joys that brought her the greatest happiness. She was an avid Ravens fan, always cheering passionately for her team. She loved Maryland crabs, quiet afternoons reading, and cherished trips to the beach. Her favorite times were being pampered by her sisters on their annual trip to Ocean City where they played cards, had good food, and laughed a lot! She also had a soft spot for ice cream, a sweet treat that always made her smile.

More than anything, Carol treasured time with her family—especially during the holidays, when she found the greatest joy in simply being together. She cherished all the special moments with her children, especially going out to dinner with her daughter—moments that became special traditions the two of them shared.

Carol leaves behind a family who will forever hold her memory close and honor the love she gave so generously. She now joins her beloved husband, parents and siblings who went before her in eternal rest, where the laughter continues.

A funeral Mass and celebration of life will be held at Our Lady of Hope Church at a later date and time. Interment will be private.
