She was a jokester at heart, always bringing laughter and warmth into the lives of the people who loved her.

Lydia Hrynczyszyn, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on June 25, 2026, at the age of 71.

Lydia lived a life of service and dedication. She was a long-time resident of Baltimore, Maryland and worked for the State of Maryland until her well-earned and happy retirement in 2023. She found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life: spending time with friends and neighbors, taking her furbaby, Louie, to the dog park, tending to her plants, and visiting with family over a good meal and a good movie or show.

Known lovingly as Lydia, Mom, and Grammy, she will be forever remembered for her humor, lighthearted spirit, generosity, and ability to make those around her smile. She was a jokester at heart, always bringing laughter and warmth into the lives of the people who loved her.

Lydia is survived by her son, Jaysin Jefferson of Knoxville, Tennessee; her daughter-in-law, Jessica Jefferson; her grandchildren, Serena Womick of York, Pennsylvania, and Arielle Jefferson of York, Pennsylvania; and her step-grandchildren, Landon, Ava, and Olivia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Hrynczyszyn and Rose Marie (Jefferson) Hrynczyszyn, along with other beloved family members who passed before her.

A private family remembrance will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local animal shelter in Lydia’s honor.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, neighbors, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
