Lorraine Celeste Bishop, a beloved and esteemed member of the Baltimore community, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at John's Hopkins Bayview hospital. Born on October 23, 1948, in Baltimore, MD. Lorraine will be remembered for her kindness, intelligence, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends.

Lorraine’s academic pursuits were distinguished and exemplary. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, a testament to her passion for learning. Her professional career spanned over two decades at Bethlehem Steel, where she solidified her affinity toward computers. After obtaining her master’s degree, she utilized her advanced knowledge to consult with several high-tech companies in Baltimore, specializing in cybersecurity and computer programming.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lorraine was known for her soft-spoken nature and kindhearted spirit. She had a very quick wit and possessed a unique charm to make people laugh. Lorraine had a remarkable memory, recalling even the most minute details from years prior. 

Lorraine and her sister Christine were exceptional primary caregivers, dedicating most of their adult life to looking after their mother, Celeste Bishop. Throughout her life, she consistently ensured that her mother was cared for and transported to and from her doctor appointments, weddings, funerals, showers, and birthday party's, underscoring the depth of her commitment to those she loved. 

Lorraine’s love extended warmly to animals, particularly horses and dogs. She was also an avid reader. Lorraine found great joy in browsing through libraries and listening to books on tape always eager to discover new stories in novels.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her father, George Bishop, and her mother, Celeste Bishop. She is survived by her devoted sister, Christine Cox, who stood by her side at the time of her passing, along with her cousins.

A visitation service in honor of Lorraine’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kaczorowski Funeral Home, P.A., located at 1201 Dundalk Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21222.

Lorraine Celeste Bishop’s legacy of intelligence, kindness, and devoted care will continue to inspire those who had the fortune to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the special light she brought into the lives of others.
