Jonathan Price Willis, Sr., who went by "Johnny" but was more affectionately known as "Pop-Pop" or "G-Pop," passed away on January 28, 2026. Born in Crab Orchard, WV, Johnny and his wife, Ada Willis (nee Rarick) relocated to Baltimore County in the 1960s where they raised their family.

Johnny was a hard worker in both his professional and personal life. As a teenager, he enrolled in the Marine Corp and ultimately rose to the level of Sargent. He was stationed at bases throughout the United States and spent an extended time at Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii. After the Marine Corp, the bulk of his career was spent with the Baltimore City Fire Department where he served as a firefighter and pump operator. His family was very proud of Johnny's service and visiting him at the firehouse was a special treat. At home, Johnny was a master at DIY home projects and was always willing to pass on his knowledge or lend a helping hand.

Johnny was an active outdoorsman who loved to fish and crab. His family has many fond memories on the water with Johnny captaining one of his beloved boats. He also had a deep interest in history and current events.

Most significantly, Johnny loved his family and they loved him. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather many times over. His cell phone was full of hundreds of family photos that he looked through often. His family feels his loss deeply and will miss him very much.

Johnny is predeceased by his parents, Goff and Lola Willis; his wife, Ada Willis; siblings Virginia, Alfred, Anna Rae, Frank, Doug, Jennings, Mary, Bonnie; and son, Kevin Willis (wife Stacy). He is survived by his children, Barbara Willis-Portz (husband Robert) and Jonathan Price Willis, Jr. (wife Donna); his grandchildren Jonathan, Clarissa, Keith, Justin, Ryan, and Kayla; and his ten great-grandchildren and his siblings; Norma and Larry.

Though Johnny may not have liked being the center of attention, his life and the lasting impact he had on those he leaves behind deserve to be honored.
