John Henry Ruppert Jr., 94, of Baltimore, Maryland, peacefully passed away on June 27, 2026. Born on December 12, 1931, he was the cherished son of the late John and Addie Ruppert.
A proud patriot, John was drafted and honorably served his country in the United States Army for two years (1952-1954) during the Korean War era. Following his service, he built a life centered around the outdoors and the people he loved. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and reader who also found great joy in the camaraderie of duckpin bowling. Above all, John was a devoted family man who treasured every moment spent with those he loved.
John was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence C. Ruppert “(nee)” DiPasquale; his son, Nicholas J. Sawicki; his brothers, Charles P. Ruppert and Eugene C. Evans; and his sister, Mary A. Brokos.
His legacy lives on through his beloved companion of 32 years, Phyllis M. Sliwinski; his children, Valerie D. Neuder (Ricky N. Neuder), John H. Ruppert III (Renae Ruppert), Lorne T. Ruppert (Rhonda Ruppert) and Tanya R. Gischel; his nine grandchildren, Ashley Neuder, Shanna Ruppert, Christopher Ruppert, Lorne Ruppert II, Brett Lyons, Brandon Lyons, Matthew Gischel, Rachel Smith, and Natasha Sawicki; his nine great-grandchildren, Paris Humes, Lennon Humes, Tyler Ruppert, Jacob Ruppert, Arwen Ruppert, Fritz Gischel, Zella Gischel, Colby Smith and Logan Smith, and one great-great grandchild Lily Rose Smith.
