Erica Joy Stacy, a beloved member of the community, passed away on January 12, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born on June 25, 1980, in Manchester, Connecticut. Erica lived a life dedicated to making a positive impact on others and leaves behind a legacy of compassion and service.

Erica's career was marked by her unwavering commitment to helping others. She worked as both a dedicated community support worker at social service agencies in St. Louis and as a valued research nurse at both Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Centers of Maryland. Her work allowed her to touch the lives of many individuals, providing them with care, support, and hope.

Those who knew Erica remember her as a caring and sensitive individual. She had the unique ability to engage in knowledgeable conversations with renowned researchers at Johns Hopkins while also joking and connecting with young children. Her sense of adventure was evident as she explored destinations ranging from Yosemite to Costa Rica to Belize. Erica truly embraced life's experiences and found joy in every moment.

Education played a crucial role in Erica's journey. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Connecticut College before pursuing her passion for nursing at Johns Hopkins University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Erica's thirst for knowledge combined with her strong commitment to social justice fueled her desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

Beyond her career and education, Erica had many hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She was an accomplished pianist who took great pleasure in playing. Connecting with her community was important to Erica, and she actively sought opportunities to learn from others and share her love with those around her.

Among Erica's proudest accomplishments were volunteering for two years at inner-city health centers, earning her SCUBA certification in preparation for international fieldwork, and graduating cum laude with a nursing degree from Johns Hopkins. These achievements showcased Erica's dedication to improving the lives of others and her commitment to personal growth.
