On Friday, March 15, 2024, Dorothy N. Weitzel (nee Bialek) passed away peacefully in her home of 96 years surrounded by the love of family. Dorothy was called home to heaven and reunited with Milton J. Weitzel Jr, her devoted husband of 72 years. Dorothy was the beloved mother of Joseph Weitzel and his wife Jean, Sister Joseph Patrice, FSSJ, and Patricia Thornton and her husband Ross; loving grandmother of Bryan Weitzel and his wife Heather, Lisa Dean and her husband Adam, Megan Weidermann and her husband Justin, Kaelyn Thornton, and Lauren Thornton; and great-grandmother of Noah Weitzel, Ethan Weitzel, Hannah Weitzel, Matthew Dean, and Kathryn Dean. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha (nee Sobus) and Joseph Bialek, and her siblings Frank, Clara, Helen, Theresa, and Rita. Dorothy, known to many as Busie, was well known and loved by many of her neighbors and members of the St. Casimir's community. Dorothy was a life-long fan of the Baltimore Orioles and would often be found sitting outside her home wearing her favorite O's hat, watching over the neighborhood and greeting all the people who passed by. Her bright smile and contagious laughter will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
