April 19, 1935 — October 31, 2023

Dunnellon

Dolores Rawlings, a beloved member of the community, passed away on October 31, 2023, in Dunnellon, Florida. She was born on April 19, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland. Dolores was known for her dedication to her family and her longstanding career at the family grocery store.

Starting in 1948, Dolores worked alongside her siblings at the grocery store that her parents had established. It was a testament to her commitment to family and hard work that she and her sister Kay successfully kept the store open until the late 1990s. Dolores poured her heart and soul into the business, ensuring that it remained a pillar of the community for several decades.

While Dolores was dedicated to her career, she always made time for what truly mattered: family. She and her long time companion Richard Hammen cherished spending holidays and special occasions with their loved ones. Dolores had a knack for turning any gathering into a festive event with her love for decorating. From birthdays to Christmas, she would transform any space into a joyous celebration.

One of Dolores' great passions was dancing. Many weekends were spent at the Polish Home with friends, where they would dance the night away to the lively music of various Polish bands. Her laughter filled the air as she twirled across the dance floor with Richard by her side.

Dolores will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her caring nature and warm smile brought comfort and joy to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever be cherished.

Dolores is survived by Phyllis Glinowiecki, her sister-in-law, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Jean & Don Mills, Tom & Debbie Kuckuda, Carol & Bob Kropkowski, Greg & Debbie Glinowiecki, Kathy & Doug Powell, Mark & Kathy Glinowiecki, and Paul Glinowiecki. Dolores' impact on their lives will be felt for generations to come. Dolores is predeceased by her siblings; Helen Strzegowski, Jean Kuckuda, Kay Goffus, Stephen Glinowiecki, Melvin Glinowiecki, Joeseph Glinowiecki, Frank Glinowiecki, and Stanley Glinowiecki.
